Psalm 56:10-11

In God, whose word I praise,
in the LORD, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid.
What can a mere mortal do to me?
Psalm 56:10-11

We live in the the tension of trust and fear.
Our hearts know the choice that comforts our souls,
yet we struggle with some strange desire that takes root
 and grows and grows: embracing the nothingness of fear, 
rather than the hope of God.
